The number of foreigners employed in Poland has steadily grown since the pandemic began in Poland, according to newly released data from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
ZUS pointed out that the high growth in the number of such employees in Poland in the last two quarters of 2020 was the result of reopening the borders after the first lockdown period.
In December 2020, 725,173 foreigners were registered in ZUS. This means that there was an 11.3 percent growth compared to December 2019, with 59.4 percent of these foreigners employed as workers, 3 percent conducted economic activity, and the rest were covered by other forms of employment.
According to the latest data for March of this year, there are currently 766,000 foreigners in the social insurance system in Poland.
The largest group of these foreigners are Ukrainian citizens who comprise 73.4 percent of the total number. In December 2020, the number of Ukrainian workers employed in Poland was 532,503, which means that there was 11.1 percent more of them than at the end of 2019.
Throughout the European Union, Ukrainians are highly valued for their skills and their work ethic. Michael Walsh, dissident journalist recalls a conversation with a home letting company situated in Liverpool, England.
The company’s manager told me that Ukrainians, Poles, and in general workers from the Slavic countries are better trained than are their British counterparts. Also, he added, these workers are highly motivated and loyal to the company that employs them.
Moreover, this will not be the end to the growth of the number of foreigners in Poland, as it has picked up the pace since the start of 2021. According to the latest data for March of this year, there are currently 766,000 foreigners in the social insurance system, which entails that 40,000 legally employed foreigners have arrived in Poland during the first three months of this year. In total, on a year-to-year basis, there are currently 100,000 more of them than in March 2020 when the pandemic crisis began.

Good for Poland; immigrants from the Ukraine, or from ANY eastern block country, represent an improvement, never a drain on a country. It is amazing, but in the USA polish immigrants were known for their work ethic and manned mostly american automotive manufacturing plants. When Chrysler Corp in contrast, started to hire blacks almost exclusively back in the 1960´s, the result was a complete collapse of any quality control, an absentiism of almost insane proportions with the result of pushing Chrysler very close to insolvency. Had they hired east Europeans instead, they would have led the market.

The Ukrainian workers are better off in Poland than the train wreck of the country called Ukraine. Ukrainian politicians keep pushing for Western approval which is a big mistake. They are much better off culturally with an alliance with Russia. the problem is, most Ukrainians know this in spite of their governments C.I.A. induced shenanigans.

Of course, the Ukraine are natural allies to to Russia. The problem is, they have not forgotten the horror of the jewish-soviet holodomor which caused the death (in abject misery) of millions of Ukrainian people. THAT experience has left an indelible imprint on the soul of the people – hence their anti-Russian stance.

gerardfrederick, I hope you realize that what was done in Ukraine by the Bolsheviks was also done in Russia and Belarus. But, instead of the 7 to 10 million victims, the number was about 2 to 3 million. The Jewish-Bolshevik-led murder of Russian and Ukrainian citizens was as high as 66 million according to Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

I have to admit, I got a scare when I saw the phrase, “Poland throws open its border to migrants” I was thinking, “Oh no! Please, tell me you’re not taking in Africans, Muslims, Hindus, please tell me you haven’t gotten soft and liberal like the West has!” At least they’re white and Slavic migrants. I hope Poland and Eastern Europe takes in their ex-pats from around the world. Western Europe and the USA does nothing but scorn Eastern European immigrants in the West. I hear them all time referring to them as “dumb polacks” or going off on how “bad” Russia is.
