The 47th G7 summit was held on 11–13 June 2021 in Cornwall in the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth II hosted the G7 leaders and their spouses at an evening reception and dinner closed to most media.

The Queen was joined by Prince Charles and Prince William at the reception held at Cornwall’s Eden Project, an environmental education center about 56 kilometers (72 miles) from the summit venue at Carbis Bay. 

It should be remembered that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh died almost 2 months ago on 9th of April 2021. The whole world mourned and expressed condolences to the Royal Family. On 10th of June 2021, just one day before the start of the Summit, the royal family prepared to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Elizabeth on 20 November 1947.

The royal family arranged a beautiful but not lavish funeral due to the so-called pandemic. Only 30 people, including his widow Queen Elizabeth, were allowed to attend, due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

And two months after the death of the Prince, neither mourning nor the pandemic left a trace. There are frequent reports in the press that some of the members of the royal family or their guests have violated the royal protocol.

When Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha died on 14 December 1861, Queen Victoria was devastated. She entered a state of mourning and wore black for the remainder of her life. She avoided public appearances and rarely set foot in London in the following years. Her seclusion earned her the nickname “widow of Windsor”.
