In making comparisons with the chances of dying from COVID-19 (0.15% to 0.1% for the over 80s), it is best to compare the mortality rate of viruses, diseases and health failings that cause us not the loss of a moment’s sleep.

With a 0.15% mortality rate (following a formidable and really scary Ebola (50%), MERS (34.4%) and a smallpox (30%). The demise of the human species may not be as dire as government-sponsored media claims.

It is interesting to keep in mind the pronouncement of a former highly-placed German government minister: ‘The Press is the keyboard government play on’. There is no end of similar views expressed by Soviet journalists in conversation with the Western counterparts:

Lightning will strike you dead (0.0001%) or you will die from the Earth’s collision with a meteorite (0.0001%).

If you’re between 21 and 40, you’re likely to need a corneal transplant (0,002%), kidneys (0,002%) liver (0,0005%). and you’ll probably be diagnosed with 0.002% Skin cancer. You will need a heart transplant (0,0003%), and a chance to live another 5 years after successful transplantation is 50%.If you are between 41 and 60, you are more likely to die in a car crash (0.008%), and there will be a fire (0.005 %) in your home, you will become schizophrenia (0.006%). and likely 0.007% % you will lose sight to blindness. Well, yes, you can die this year basically from anything you can probably 0.008 %.
