From the 28^th December, the Jewish Day of Hannukah, European officials were advised not to use terms such as ‘Christmas’, ‘gay’, ‘lesbian’ and other words that might seem offensive to people of different cultures, religions and sexual orientations in their speeches. This edict is stated in the ‘Handbook for Inclusive Communication’ published by the unelected European Commission.

The European Commission is the executive branch of the European Union, responsible for proposing legislation, enforcing EU laws and directing the union’s administrative operations. It is made up of 27 unelected and mostly unknown commissioners.

Thus, the authors of the handbook recommend refraining from using the word ‘Christmas’ in relation to the Christmas holidays, and suggest replacing it with the phrase ‘holiday season’.

‘Not everyone celebrates Christmas. We have to take into account the fact that people have different religious traditions,’ the manual says. Well, not everyone ~ except mainstream journalists and politicians ~ celebrates Hannukah. Why not ban Hannukah?

Instead of the words ‘gay’ and ‘lesbian’, it is suggested to use the phrases ‘same-gender couple’ or to use the word gay in combination with the noun person (gay person). The glossary notes that officials should not ‘assume’ a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. The authors recommend asking which pronouns the interlocutor prefers.

The cancelled Christmas edict was announced on November 28 – December 6:  Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights commemorates the victory of the Maccabees, an army of Jews that fought against the army of King Antiochus IV of Syria. The festival is marked by lighting one candle on the menorah (multi-branched candelabra) on each night of the festival.

Check your Google heading this week, which displays the Jewish Festival of Lights symbology. Needless to say, Hannukah and Muslim, all non-Christian holidays will be celebrated as usual. For the Christian Europeans, CHRIST MASS has been cancelled and supposedly to protect us from a flu-like virus will be limited in numbers at Christian Churches. Happy Christmas. Source
