WHAT SHALL WE TELL THEM?

What shall we tell them when people find out,

They were lied to and cheated,

By scoundrels no doubt.

Then will their anger be hurled upon us?

Despite all the clamour, despite all our fuss,

We tried but we failed,

And were hated as theorists,

Such fury they rail.

But now will they blame us?

Shall we tell them sincerely we each did our best,

But they chose to ignore us,

They took us in jest;

This is their fate but who will they hate,

Now that they realise,

They woke up too late,

Those who jabbed syringes,

Between shoulder blades,

And sent them to heaven or sent them to Hades.

Shall we lament and say how we grieve,

Then mourn their deception,

By those who deceive,

I feel for their anger,

I mourn deep their loss,

I shall help them to carry their guilt-laden Cross,

But guilt I have none for their fault is their own,

Theirs was their harvest,

Of seeds they have sown.
