The most-deserved belt in history was given to Bridger Walker the little boy who saved his little sister from a German shepherd dog. He had 90 stitches all over his body but he saved his three-year-old sister from certain death. And had stated, ‘If anyone has to die, it’s me, I’m the big brother.’

The World Boxing Council (WBC) recognised him as a full-time world champion. He has the official WBC historical record, of being the best fighter in the world for that day.

‘That’s what brothers should be to their sisters. Awesome story Awesome courage and deepest respect to the WBC for the recognition the lad thoroughly deserved. Bravery personified,’ says  Andrew Thomson.

Leslie Brand from Nome, Alaska makes his point: ‘I am an adult and have been viscously attacked by a large dog. I know the pain, fear, and adrenaline that kicks in when this happens. He is so brave-it is beyond words. May the Lord bless you and keep you little braveheart.

Philip Clancy spoke for millions around the world: ‘Wow what can you say courageous beyond belief most children that age would have been so frightened and ran away you deserve more than the WBC belt a great recognition by the boxing cancel anyway the scars will heal and your sister I’m sure will be forever grateful to you fantastic young man well done.’

Michael Walsh, whose great-grandfather is the legendary Irish-American boxer Gentleman Jim Corbett smiles. ‘Once again, so many times, it proves the point: ‘It’s not the size of the dog in the fight it’s the size of the fight in the dog.’

  1. This story moved me to tears.
    Healthy boy and healthy girl.
I doubt very much that these two children will succumb to today’s societal pressures of “do you feel more like a boy today or a girl? You can be anything you want, even a zebra if you identify as a zebra…”
