Doctors bowed their heads in front of 11-year-old Yaawi Liang, who died of brain cancer. After learning about the disease, he volunteered to donate his organs to several people, thus saving their lives. Shortly before his death, he told his mother: ‘There are so many beautiful people in the world, doing good every day. I want to be one of them.’

His school teachers were quoted as saying that Liang perhaps learned about organ donation after reading a story in his textbook. It may seem like a simple act, but not many understand the importance, and the need, for organ donation.

His parents said that Yaoyi had always dreamed of becoming a doctor and saving lives, and this was one of fulfilling his goal.
