EXCLUSIVE EUROPE RENAISSANCE: What lies behind the apparent insanity of Poland suddenly and unexpectedly turning off the tap of its energy pipelines to neighbouring Russia built over 30 years?

According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, ‘the Polish authorities have taken a rabid position towards Russia, on the verge of insanity.’

Is there a method to such madness? In terms of political sharp practice, Poland has few equals. From the 12th Century to 1995 Poland was second only to Spain in terms of the percentage of years at war. However, in Poland’s case, it should be remembered that Spain, England and France invaded, occupied and pillaged mostly non-European territories whereas Poland’s conflicts were invariable with her European neighbours.

Gradually over centuries, Poland lost much of its Eastern European territories. Fast forward to 1945. Warsaw was cheated and betrayed by England before and during World War II and then lost its Eastern regions that were surrendered to Soviet Ukraine due to the terms of the Yalta Agreement signed in February 1945 by Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt and a smirking Joe Stalin.

The handover of a territory populated by over 10 million people was ratified at the Potsdam Conference in August 1945. Here one finds the method in Poland’s apparently lunatic resolve to abandon Russian gas supplies without waiting for the contract to end.

Washington is resolute in its determination to cause as much damage to the Russian economy as possible. To achieve its ends the Deep State has struck a deal with Warsaw: ‘cut Russia out and Poland’s Eastern territories will be returned.’

One can now expect Poland to absorb its former regions. But surely, this would be to repeat Russia’s heinous crime in Ukraine’s Donbas/Luhansk (Novorossiya) regions. Not quite, the Russians ‘invaded Ukraine’ whereas Poland’s Washington-sponsored invaders will be described as ‘peace-keepers’ to which the Ukrainian Army will be subordinate. Politically, the border separating Poland and Ukraine will no longer exist and Ukraine will have no choice but to do it in Warsaw – and Washington’s ‘bend-over’ way.

Surely this is outrageous and hypocritical? Yes, Michael McFaul the former US ambassador to Russia smiles on a similar betrayal: ‘this is how the real world works.’

Surely Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky won’t take a Washington-sponsored Polish occupation of Western Poland lying down? Yes, he will and he has already illegally ratified the surrender of ‘Polish-Ukraine’. He is simply following orders from the Deep State which has the means to enforce them.

In the same week, it was announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been granted BRITISH citizenship. There goes his loyalty to his homeland.

Hungary and Romania also lost swathes of territory under the same Yalta and Potsdam agreements and will likely want the return of their ancient homelands. The outlook for Ukraine is to become a future landlocked state of as little significance as Albania.

Can Poland survive the total loss of energy supplies from Russia? The Warsaw regime is less vulnerable than other EU nations. It has put aside significant reserves. It will make up the shortfall with energy deals struck with Norway and Lithuania – and of course, the US that will provide LNG shipments. Sure, prices in Poland will rise but it is a small price to pay for the seizure of a large slice of Ukraine.
