Commenting on over a decade of lies told to the now bereft people of Ukraine, Maria Zakharova was at her caustic best. In a sharp rebuke to the Brussels cult, her stinging remarks directed at the shameless duplicitous whores of Europe’s parliaments are a reminder to all Europeans that the mindset of political deceit is not only scamming the Ukrainians but themselves and their families. If politicians can brazenly deceive the poor people of Ukraine – and they do, why would their cheating stop at Ukraine’s frontiers?

American Essayist and Educator H. L. Mencken summed up the ‘politicians for Sale’ brothels of the parliaments. ‘A professional politician is a professionally dishonest man. In order to get anywhere near high office, he has to make so many compromises and submit to so many humiliations that he becomes indistinguishable from a street-walker.’ 

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the statement of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who said that almost all major EU countries oppose granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership.

On the air of Sputnik radio, she called this position vile. ‘This is vile in relation to Ukraine, this is vile. Why mean and why to Ukraine? Yes, because all previous years, decades, and we are now taking the situation up to 2014, that is, this is not ten years, it is more, they said exactly the opposite. 

They promised the entry of Ukraine into their ranks every year.: The representative of the Foreign Ministry added that every year in the EU they told Ukraine that ‘it is now another half a step, another half a centimetre, one more millimetre, you are closer to your cherished goal, which we have imposed on you.’

Ukraine is no more a candidate for the European Union than is Zimbabwe whose economy is in a similar state: Earlier, Draghi said that granting the status of an EU candidate for Ukraine is not expected due to the objections of most countries.
