MICHAEL WALSH: Through my 55 years of political activity, I have consistently spoken in favour of excluding politicians from the parliaments of the Western powers. Yet, the principle of politicians running a nation’s affairs is so deeply ingrained my stance has been likened to removing blood from the human body to make it more efficient.

However, the Western styles of democracies have nothing in common with the term democracy or the concept of Greek and Pericles government by democracy. The term no more applies in the West than it did to the occupied states like the German Democratic Republic when ruled by the iron fist of Stalin and his henchmen. A more accurate term would be rotating dictatorships by which a self-chosen unaccountable cult of self-serving bandits rule the roost.

The Western concept of democracy is not applicable to much of the better functioning world. Elsewhere, with varying degrees of success countries are better run by one-party states that in their own way are more accountable to their people than are the sham ‘democracies’ of the Western nations.

My solution advocates that politicians should not be allowed anywhere near the parliaments of the people. Why should they, especially after hundreds of years of gerrymandering, corruption, wars, self-serving profiteering, leeching from the taxes, money laundering, being ensnared in financial and sexual depravities not to mention gross mismanagement? And we elect them? God forbid!

How can it be other than cronyism when a Minister of Education or Economics Minister have no professional background (or interest) in their appointed position. In Britain, there was a Minister of Transport who didn’t even have a driving licence. A Minister of Defence who has never served in the armed forces and so on.

In the process of electoral selection, one’s political or religious beliefs, or social class should be irrelevant. The National Socialist triumph in the 1933 elections ushered in a parliamentary period in which the sole basis for the election to serve the people was ‘what one could do for Germany and the German people.’

Obviously, many elected German legislators at some point in their lives had voted for political parties other than the N.S.D.A.P. But from putting their names forward for election there was only one ‘party on the ballot paper’- Germany. Furthermore, the heads of various departments each year – not every five years, publicly stated their accomplishments delivered over the previous year.

National Socialism never perished on May 8, 1945. The principles of National Socialism were partly adopted and applied to many other nations as they shrugged off colonialism.

The most successful nation examples were Franco’s Spain, Libya under Colonel Ghaddafi and the Chinese authority under Xi Jinping. In fact, in Belarus where life is not perfect but far superior and safer than the nations of the European Union, the popular president Alexander Lukashenko – like China – has openly endorsed the values of Hitler’s Germany.

China, a once backward colony of the West is a case in point: ‘Political power should be in the hands of patriots, this is the general political rule in the world. Not a single country, not a single region will allow unpatriotic or even treacherous forces and figures, or traitors to the motherland, to power.’

According to RIA Novosti this is a direct quote from Chinese President Xi Jinping as saying at a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to Chinese jurisdiction.
