Apart from the ethical approach to war and conflict most adversaries are aware that atrocities have no benefit except to the enemy for propaganda purposes. Either could apply to the Russian side of the Ukrainian conflict but such is the absence of Russian war crimes that atrocities are invented by the media which is desperate but starved of any credible evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian side.

This was the case in Buche near Kiev when yesterday’s media headlines implicated Russian forces. When afterwards it was proved beyond all doubt that the Ukrainian side had committed the war crimes in the city it was no longer a newsworthy story – except to non-Western media. The rest of the world knew who was responsible but not the people of the West.

For this reason, the Ukrainian armed forces, the xenophobic ultras and foreign mercenaries are aware that no matter how heinous their war crimes Western media will either airbrush them off the news desks or they will place the blame on the Russians. Thus, Russia’s adversaries have an incentive to wage a terrorist war as Western media is complicit in their silence.

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation said that militants in the Odessa region kicked patients out of maternity hospitals on the street. The neo-Nazis (ultras not National Socialists) drove out the patients of the maternity hospitals of the villages of the Odessa region with newborn infants into the street. Medical personnel who tried to prevent them were subjected to physical violence. This was announced on Wednesday by the head of the National Defence Control Centre of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.

Thankfully, thanks to modern communications the Russian side was able to record these macabre events – and to release their findings to the world media: Western media ignored the war crimes. As a veteran journalist conceded, ‘we journalists are soldiers of information’, the emphasis being on the term ‘soldiers’.

‘In the settlements of Dobroslav and Krasnoselka in the Limansky district of the Odessa region, the militants (ultras and mercenaries) of the Ukrainian armed formations use the buildings of hospitals and ambulance stations as command posts and barracks. 

In addition, in the city of Vuhledar, Donetsk People’s Republic, in a polyclinic (Molodyozhnaya Street), militants of ultra-nationalist formations equipped barracks, firing positions and ammunition depots.

Heavy equipment and artillery, and mortar positions are located in the immediate vicinity of the institution and on the adjacent territory, and MANPADS crews are located on the roof of the building.

According to the general, in the city of Druzhkovka of the DPR, in the building of polyclinic No. 1 (Kotlyarevsky Street), the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equipped firing positions and sniper points, and personnel and patients are forcibly kept in the basement as a human shield. The approaches to the institution are mined, but the local population is deliberately not notified about this.

Mizintsev also said that in the city of Belozerskoye DPR, in the city hospital (Festivalnaya St.), the ultras and foreign mercenaries accompanied by NATO advisors equipped a stronghold, ammunition and weapons depots, while the residents of nearby houses were ordered to remain as a civilian shield.

The head of the coordination headquarters called on international organizations, the World Health Organization to influence official Kyiv and take effective measures aimed at preventing the use of medical infrastructure for military purposes. Source
