Rishi Sunak MP, one of the men trying to become prime minister and Leader of the Conservative Party, as well as perhaps the strongest voice insisting that the extra £20 a week to those on Universal Credit must be cut, is one of the richest men in the country. In fact, Rishi Sunak is the front runner and likely to be Britain’s next prime minister.

The cabinet member was born in the UK to Indian parents. His Indian-born wife is  the daughter of N. R. Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy, a founder of the Indian multi-national IT company Infosys, and holds a 0.93% share in the company. 

To make things absolutely clear about his election this will be decided by back-slapping self-serving Conservative MPs themselves very often mired in corruption. The abandoned British electorate will have no say in the leadership contest.

He or whoever is ‘the chosen one’ will be elected after deals are made by parliamentary Tory Party members. To put it bluntly, Rishi Sunak and his wife have enough money to buy every Tory politician. If they do, they can be certain that the government-sponsored media whose income is 80 per cent is government sourced will keep quiet.

Reminder: Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, is the daughter of a billionaire. She owns shares worth £430M in her father’s company alone, meaning she has more money than Queen Elizabeth II.

Sunak himself is a former hedge fund manager and a Goldman Sachs banker who attended the elite boarding school of Winchester College. Today it costs £41,709 to send a child there for one year.

This is the politician holding down the minimum wage and refusing to properly pay our key workers.
