A new video from an elementary school in the Texas town of Uvalde, where 19 students and two teachers were gunned down in a mass shooting on May 24, shows that the police were in no hurry to take immediate action to stop the carnage, according to the New York Post. The recording – since removed – also caught the moment when the police run down the corridor after the attacker opened fire on them.

According to new footage of the horrific attack on a school in the Texas town of Uvalde, police officers fled in response to a shooting at an educational institution, while 19 children and two teachers were left to die in their classrooms, according to the New York Post.

The released 77-minute video footage (since removed bythe authorities) shows law enforcement breaking into Robb Elementary School minutes after 18-year-old Salvador Ramos high on anti-depressants massacred 19 children and two teachers.

However, instead of confronting him, the cops stopped and hesitated, and at one point in the footage, one of the helmeted and vested police officers can be seen using a wall sanitiser and checking his phone. The school’s CCTV camera also caught the police running down the corridor after Ramos opened fire on them.

The video corroborated revealing reports that local and state authorities did not take immediate action to stop this bloodbath even though they were only a few meters from the shooter. The footage also shows well-armed law enforcers roaming the hallway, leaving and returning, talking to each other and calling in those precious moments when they might have tried to thwart the killer.

It wasn’t until the 77th minute of the tape that the police finally broke into the classroom where drug-crazed Ramos, who died in the assault, had shot and killed innocent children and teachers.
