Joe Biden is losing his proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, and his favourite horse, NATO, is on its last legs, according to retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor. As he writes in an article for The American Conservative, the only thing that is falling faster than Biden’s ratings is the economies of the United States and Europe, which, due to anti-Russian sanctions, are in for a real Armageddon.

‘Today Americans and Europeans are much less fortunate: determined to bring their proxy war with Russia to an end, Biden is losing the battle for Ukraine, and his favourite horse, NATO, is last breath. And the only thing that is falling faster than Biden’s ratings is the US and European economies.

 As McGregor points out in an article for The American Conservative, NATO’s problem is that economic hardship due to Biden’s anti-Russian sanctions threatens Europe with economic Armageddon. When European bond and stock futures are falling and the euro has already fallen below the dollar, that’s no good, but when Paris turns off its famous night lights to save energy, it’s a sure sign that things are going from bad to worse.

 In addition, the author of the article writes, that all NATO members understand that the longer the conflict drags on, the higher the likelihood that hostilities will spread to the Eastern European countries of the alliance. Europeans have always been worried about the vehemence with which Biden has rushed to confront Russia in Ukraine, but now they have realized that a collision with the Russian military machine is not only possible but increasingly likely. And it is far from certain that the forces of the alliance will be able to resist Moscow.

‘NATO-trained and equipped Ukrainians fought valiantly with support in key areas like intelligence, but still couldn’t match the firepower and determination of Russian forces, which withstood 150 days of non-stop fighting in an area the size of St. Louis, Missouri, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is doubtful that the US and NATO ground forces will cope with this task as adroitly as the Russians,’ writes Douglas McGregor.
