Documents containing information that the beleaguered authorities intend to appeal to the people with a request to save electricity were at the disposal of the British media, writes The Independent. At the same time, British politicians would like people to reduce their consumption in a natural way due to rising prices.

As the British- American sanctions tighten against Russia the unfortunate population are asked to show ‘The Dunkirk Spirit’ and to bear the hand-wringing costs of ‘Pissing off Putin’.

Yet, Russia’s economy has benefited enormously from the blockade as prices for fossil fuels soar and fall short of demand by the two-thirds of the world not sanctioning Russia. The political taking heads and their media cannot admit they got it so badly wrong.

Judging by the project of the authorities, which was made available to the on-message British media, they intend to ask the inhabitants of the United Kingdom to turn off the lights and heating in winter. At the same time, European authorities have already called on EU member states to reduce gas consumption by 15% from August. And the appeals to the population are the same: to save light and heating.

British authorities intend to urge the public to reduce the time spent in the shower, turn off the lights and reduce the temperature in the house. At the same time, radio, television, posters and leaflets are going to be used to inform the population about these measures.

Also among these plans is a project whereby the national grid will pay its industrial customers if they agree to disconnect from the grid to avoid widespread blackouts. The UK’s national grids have also asked their suppliers to pay contractors to change their supply volumes depending on grid load.

However, the media write that the ministers would not really like to ask the population to reduce consumption and hope that this will happen naturally due to high prices. If the people can’t afford gas and electricity, they can’t buy and use it: problem solved.
