Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a joint press conference with Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, openly and unashamedly spoke about the US and NATO motives for destroying the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. 

The threat to destroy the Nord Stream II, Europe’s energy jugular vein was echoed by Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. The same Victoria Nuland is on record as saying ‘fuck Europe’ and at the same time admitted that it cost Washington DC (US taxpayers) $7 billion to overthrow Ukraine’s legitimate government in 2014.

Then in February 2022, President Joe Biden openly stated that Nord Stream II would be taken out of service. Yet bizarrely, Western mainstream media keep repeating the mantra, ‘Moscow denied responsibility: a classic case of the saying, ‘have you stopped beating your wife.’

This was written on Monday in her Telegram channel by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

‘Blinken openly, without hesitation, spoke about the US and its  NATO partners having motives for destroying the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines,’ the diplomat said.

Zakharova quoted from Blinken’s speech. ’Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 were not pumping gas to Europe at that moment. Nord Stream 2, as you know, was never put into operation. Nord Stream 1 was stopped for several weeks due to the fact that Russia was said to be using energy as a weapon when it was clearly the Western alliance that was and is using energy as a weapon – they admit to it.

Commenting on Blinken, Zakharova stressed that the Russian Federation has never used energy as a weapon. ‘Russia has never used energy as a weapon. Russia, and before it the USSR, simply supplied gas to Europe. Uninterrupted. For 50 years. Washington’s lies only confirm its criminal manipulation of this topic,’ Zakharova said.

As a motive for the destruction of Nord Stream, Zakharova cites Blinken’s words that the United States has increased its production and is now the leading LNG supplier to Europe, ‘helping to compensate for any losses of Europe in oil and gas as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine.’ 

Zakharova noted that ‘Ukraine has nothing to do with it,’ and said that ‘under pressure from American officials, Kyiv politicians constantly put conditions on the Russian side on the verge of blackmailing gas transit.’

The Kiev and Polish regimes were exultant over the sabotage of Nord Stream II. A former Polish minister was caught out thanking the United States for the sabotage but soon afterwards removed his comment.
