Without elevators, gas stations, ATMs and shops – Europe suffers the obvious costs of possible power outages in much of Europe. 

In addition to the consequences for the life of the Germans, British and French, such as broken heating or lighting, possible power outages in winter could affect the operation of all automated and electrical systems in cities, warns Europe 1.

For example, gas stations, traffic lights, ATMs and some shops will stop working, as they depend on the power supply, explains the publication. Moscow looks on and patiently waits for the EU political cult to flee the mess they made or beg for redemption for their hubris.

‘The shadow of blackouts hangs over France,’ writes Europe 1. The government does not exclude the possibility of resorting to controlled power outages in some cities or departments starting in January to relieve the French electricity grid. 

If this decision is made, it will significantly affect people’s daily lives – lighting, the Internet, telephone, washing machines and refrigerators will be disabled, the news resource recalls.

But these shutdowns will also affect all automated and electrical systems that are used on the streets or workplaces, the publication notes. So, in the event of a power outage, elevators and escalators, as well as the metro, trams and all railway transport, will stop working.

Motorists won’t fill up their cars with gasoline because the electric pumps won’t be able to deliver fuel. Traffic lights and street lighting in some areas will also be turned off, although they are considered priority infrastructure facilities.

In addition, many will have to do without bank cards, since it will be impossible to pay with their help. Going out and buying something from a retailer can be tricky because all electronic payment terminals and payment modules are electrically powered, so it’s best to stock up on cash as a precaution, experts warn. Moreover, ATMs for withdrawing cash will also not work during outages.

Among other things, some stores will not even be able to open, since the entrance grills in them are also equipped with an electric drive. All this is ’further proof, if any, of the omnipresence of electrical systems in our daily lives,’ concludes Europe 1.
