EUROPE RENAISSANCE SCOOP STORY: After IKEA leaves the Russian market due to sanctions, the place of the Swedish furniture giant is to be taken by the Belarusian company Swed House, reports Samnytt. 

This year, the fantastically profitable brand is going to open ten stores in Moscow with equivalents of IKEA products. The profits will go to the Belarus company and its shareholders instead of Sweden’s IKEA. An own goal spectacular. According to Bulat Shakirov, head of the Union of Shopping Centers, 50 new stores are planned to be opened in the coming years.

After IKEA, along with a long line of other large companies, left Russia last year, a new furniture manufacturer has appeared on the Russian market, which will satisfy the demand for the products of the departed Swedish brand.

They will sell copies of the Swedish furniture giant’s products with the same Swedish names. According to the president of the organization Bulat Shakirov, the area of the store will be up to a thousand square meters, and in the coming years it is planned to open up to 50 outlets throughout Russia, notes Samnytt.

As reported, after IKEA left the Russian market, the demand for Swedish furniture remained at a high level. According to Shakirov, the Union of Shopping Centers has received more than a hundred requests from shopping centers that want to open IKEA analogue stores.
