On November 11, 1965, Rhodesia, a self-governing British territory since 1923, declared itself a sovereign nation. The last country to declare UDI had been the United States two centuries earlier. Rhodesia’s Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) was a direct result of British betrayal.
The peoples of Western nations are advised or enforced to avoid crowds where people may be carrying the killer virus without their being aware of it. Avoid people who mix with others; policemen, journalists, politicians, leftists and migrants are toxic carriers of this dreadful bacillus.
The most beautiful words, “But, I love you.” The most painful words, “I love you, but.”
Change is inevitable but how we respond to change is a matter of choice. How many times I sat in despair at an unexpected misfortune. But, with the benefit of hindsight, things were never as bad as they at first appeared. In fact, time is much more than a great healer, it is a redeemer.
THE TRAIL BENEATH THE YEARS
(Farewell to Africa)
It was when the grind and grumble,
Of those wagons passed this way,
The colour-sergeant’s bark was never meek,
The sighing strain of steel,

The British Merchant Navy freighter Fiscus, 4,815 tonnes and built by W. H. Seager & Co. loaded a cargo of steel ingots, lumber and a deck cargo of crated aircraft parts in Canada and sailed from Three Rivers to Sydney, Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. Having rediscovered his gift for storytelling, Michael Walsh was struck by the thought that like pop music, storylines in novels had become unoriginal. It appeared that TV soaps, television drama and novels had one unimaginative strategy to boost sales.
Traditions, records and extraordinary ‘valentines.’
The oldest valentine in the world.
There is a legend that the very first Valentine card in the world was written by Saint Valentine before his execution. But the officially registered love note, dated February 14, 1415, belongs to the Charles, Duke of Orléans, who wrote love letters to his wife while he was in the Tower of London. This Valentine is now kept in the British Museum.
Helen Duncan was a Scottish medium who held spiritual séances during World War Two. During one of her November 1941 séances, she spoke to a sailor’s spirit.
