The educational mantra would have us believe that slavery was abolished throughout the British Empire in 1833. This is what British students are taught; why would they believe otherwise?
Britain in 1939 was the hub of a world empire with powerful commonwealth allies. It is strange that, throughout World War II (1939-1945) which Winston Spencer Churchill (1874-1965) enthusiastically pursued, never consulted or collaborated with his Australian, South African, New Zealand, Indian or Canadian counterparts?
As a guest at a medieval manse, I recall my bravado when late at night I was invited to enter the unsealed wooden door of a forbidding garret. My hosts stood well back as cautiously I opened the door to peer into a blackness. Other than the darkness I couldn’t see anything but was aware of what I describe tersely as a hideous malevolent entity inviting me to enter. Slamming the garret door shut I fearfully retreated.
Despite tens of thousands of books, features in periodicals, newsreels, movies and comment, the most important stories relating to World War II are unknown. Why, because the events put Germany’s foreign defenders in a good light.

This is not far behind the value of Britain and Russia’s combined export trade. The financial resources and political clout exercised by this military behemoth’s lobbying apparatus dwarf many national interests and economies. These conglomerates, like the pharmaceuticals industries, are far more powerful and influential than are many governments.
During World War II, between 1941 and 1945, 78 Allied Arctic convoys brought more than 4 million tons of provisions and munitions to the U.S.S.R. These deliveries played a crucial role in the Soviet war effort. More than 1,400 merchant ships and naval vessels participated in the convoys to the ports of Arkhangelsk and Murmansk in Arctic Russia, which Winston Churchill once described as “the worst journey in the world.”
Hungary’s popular Prime Minister has labelled the European Union’s plan to make access to funding conditional on the maintenance of the rule of law as blackmail. He then repeated what retiring Soviet President Mikhael Gorbachev said by likening Brussels to the Soviet Union.
