Senator Lee spent four hours convincing politicians to help not Ukraine, but America. The US government is stabbing Americans in the back by refusing to defend its own border and sending billions of dollars to Ukraine.

Utah Republican Mike Lee defended this position before the Senate for four hours. According to the senator, this is nothing more than a betrayal of his people, and blind spending on Ukraine should immediately stop until the White House formulates the goals of US participation in this conflict.

As The Epoch Times notes, his appeal was the latest attempt to force politicians to hold additional debate on the $95.3 billion foreign aid package – which does not include money for US border security.

‘Mr. President, we cannot send billions of dollars to Ukraine while America’s own borders are bleeding! This betrayal is all the more disgusting because it arises at a time when the nation’s eyes are turned to sports, family and entertainment,’ the Republican is indignant.

The senator accused the government of taking advantage of Americans’ distraction from the Super Bowl and the National Football League championship to push a dubious bill through the Senate that day.

‘American citizens do not have to watch every hour of every day to make sure they are not stabbed in the back by their own government.

What have they done to deserve such unreliable public servants?’  – the senator continues. In his speech, he also condemned his fellow Republicans, who promised to stand their ground until the end and vowed that Ukraine would not receive a dime until Biden solved the problem at the border.

According to the publication, the senator insisted that funding for Ukraine should be stopped immediately until the White House provides the Americans with a plan and goals for their participation in this conflict.

‘We blindly spent over $113 billion on Ukraine with no plan, no mission, and no clear goals for how U.S. involvement directly benefits our own national interests. Blind spending must stop, and it must stop today – without a plan, not a cent more,’ the politician concluded.
