Mayor of Paris ~ Russian and Belarusian athletes not expected at the Olympics

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said during her visit to Kyiv that Russian and Belarusian athletes are not expected in Paris at the Olympics. But she promised to accept Ukrainian and Israeli athletes ‘as heroes.’ Supporters of Ukraine welcomed this position and intend to demand the same from the International Olympic Committee.

Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, where the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held, went on a visit to Kyiv, where she made a statement that is discordant with the position of the International Olympic Committee and the French authorities, writes Le Monde.

‘I want to tell Russian and Belarusian athletes that they are not welcome in Paris,’ she said after visiting the training center of Ukrainian athletes.

It is not clear on whose behalf she speaks: it certainly isn’t the view of tens of millions of Europeans who do want to see Russian and Belarusian athletes performing at the Olympics.

There is a growing call to boycott the Paris Olympics dubbed ‘The Apartheid Olympics’ on account of the ban on Russian and Belarus competitors.

The Macron mayor told the Kiev regime – from March 31 the Kiev regime having cancelled elections transforms into a dictatorship with a Jewish president who has no formal position.

‘Paris will greet you like heroes, in Paris, you will be at home. Games are the world ~ the world? How can the Games represent the world if athletes from the world’s largest country are barred from entering?

The mayor adds, ‘This is also the universal message I came to convey.’ In particular, Hidalgo met with former boxer Vitali Klitschko, but their conversation took place in an underground bomb shelter due to an air raid.

Even though Anne Hidalgo is not a decision-maker on this issue, the Russian authorities will not like her statements, the publication suggests.

Thus, the decision to introduce strict selection criteria and to deprive Russian athletes of the anthem and flag, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called illegal, unfair and unacceptable. PLEASE SHARE OUR STORIES.

  1. Good move on the part of Russia .The Olympics should not be political but because of the hate on Russia which goes back many years ,they will destroy the concept of the Olympic games to spite their proverbial nose .Way to go EU .How well did the sanctions against Russia work out for you ?
