On Wednesday, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini sharply condemned Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to send troops to Ukraine, saying that politicians who express such ideas are dangerous to society. 

Answering a question from journalists about recent statements by Emmanuel Macron and former Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti that the West should not rule out sending troops to Ukraine, the politician said that his colleagues need to heal.

‘Those who hold this point of view and talk about it as if it were something normal ~ and this applies to both Macron and Monti ~  are dangerous the Deputy Prime Minister is sure.

 ’If they so want to fight, then let them go to Ukraine even tomorrow, they are expected there,’ he added.

In March, Salvini already spoke out on the topic of sending troops: then the politician accused the French leader of ’representing a danger to our country and our continent.’
