Some may remember a time when most light entertainment featured content that was basically family-friendly. Shows like Andy Griffith, Lassie, I Love Lucy, Father Knows Best, Wagon Train, and others were mainstays on evening TV. 

These shows were generally entertaining, innocent, inoffensive, and perhaps most importantly, not trying to push some sort of agenda down the viewer’s throat. Yes, even as late as the 1980s one could find relatively safe and family-friendly viewing options.

Starting in the late 80s and into the 90s, something sinister began to manifest in popular entertainment. Now it’s not as if one could not find ‘adult’ things to watch, but you had to expend some energy to find it. But now, western audiences are constantly bombarded with all manner of perversity, gay relationships, inane humor, trans-this-and-that, fake news and non-binary whatever-it-is on prime-time evening television, to say nothing of what one finds unrestricted on Netflix and streaming services like it.

And this is to say nothing of the general heterosexual raciness of most entertainment now in the West. Sexual matters aside, spiritual values are also often mocked and belittled by characters in these shows as well, corroding the good instruction believing parents wish to instil in their children. And it is well known from hidden camera footage that this is being done intentionally to steer society and opinion in a certain direction.

In stark contrast to this trend, the Kremlin has ordered broadcast channels in Russia to prepare data on the number of programs, films and TV series aimed at preserving family values, as well as to work out the possibility of increasing the number of such programs in the broadcast network.

There have also been proposals to increase the share of programs and films aimed at preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, including such values as a strong family, marriage, and having many children.

Can you imagine the US Congress doing such a thing? No, they would rather find ways to codify into law unrestricted access to abortion and criminalize parents who do not want to subject their children to perverse homosexual and transgender ideology.

The Sesame Workshop with government money is too busy pushing ‘diversity’ by introducing gay Sesame Street characters and gender queer activist puppets to teach your kid how to read or count.

It shows that the Russian government cares about its families and its future, demanding investment into entertainment that will not corrode the minds and souls of the next generation of Russians.
