MICHAEL WALSH REPORT ~ The crime rate in the US is rising – and the police refuse to work. The program to reduce police funding in the United States is bearing poisonous fruit. The crime rate is growing rapidly, and police officers are quitting en masse, not wanting to work in such conditions. 

As former lawyer and investigator John Walsh told Fox News, most of the police recruits are people with health problems or who cannot read or write. The White House has persistently lied by denying there is a problem, even though statistics glaringly suggest otherwise.

JOHN WALSH, TV host, former lawyer and criminal investigator: Have you seen our president stumbling through some cities? He picks a couple of cities that had a huge spike in crime last year and had two fewer murders this year – but that doesn’t count as a drop in crime!

Take a look at this. World statistics. Top 10 cities around the world with the highest number of murders. The first six are in Mexico. They have 31 thousand border murders there, committed by cartels, etc.

The next four are St. Louis, Baltimore, New Orleans and Chicago. We are in the top ten. Four of our cities are among the top ten cities in the world with the highest number of murders. 

Chicago. There have been 1,326 murders there over the past two years. Over a year, they arrested only nine people out of more than 800 murders. There is also a problem with thefts: last year there were 1,321 thefts and 26 thousand cars were stolen. And that’s just one city.

What about Portland? Remember the riots in Portland and Seattle? Portland became one of the first cities to defund the police. Guess how much the murder rate in Portland increased last year?

JOHN WALSH: 700 percent. Because no cop wants to work in Portland. They can’t find employees. Why would they work there? More police officers died in the line of duty last year than in the entire history of this country.

Just think about what’s happened since you retired and moved to your horse ranch… Today, suddenly there are no consequences for crime, cops have been made the enemy, and we realize we’re trying to make criminals look like the good guys – and cops, in turn, the bad guys.

Listen to what’s being said about the police crisis. Here’s the quote: ‘We have a staffing crisis in New York. Last year we lost 3,000 police officers. Our employees are overworked, there are not enough staff, they cannot take a day off. 

We lose police officers every day, more than 200 people a month. We cannot maintain this situation in the long term.’ These are the words of the head of the Police Assistance Association, Patrick Hendry. And he says this about New York, where we lost thousands of police officers, and although we still have 34 thousand officers, they are not coping with the situation.

JOHN WALSH: They can’t be hired. Chicago was trying to recruit cops. Nearly half the men and women there resigned and went elsewhere. What are they doing in these other cities? 

They travel in the car one at a time. Not in twos, without reinforcements. And being alone in a car is dangerous. They have 12-hour work days. In some cities, they work 12 days for one day off. 

Chicago was recruiting police officers. 80 percent of candidates were overweight and could not read or write. And they ended up hiring only five police officers. So, it is impossible to recruit police officers.
